Spanning Jordan, Italy and the United States, this documentary weaves together three human stories that reveal the impact of Hikma’s work - from cancer treatment and community support to improving the lives of people living with HIV.
The Result
In Padua, Italy, we follow Lorenzo’s remarkable story, from being diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma at just seven years old to facing the disease once again following a relapse in adulthood.
We travel to Jordan, where a healthy food programme is making a difference on several levels - providing nutritious meals for schoolchildren while creating valuable employment opportunities for women in the local community.
Finally, we travel to Birmingham, Alabama, where we explore a very different healthcare challenge, meeting people living with HIV and examining how stigma, poverty and access to support can influence health outcomes.
Together, the three stories offer an intimate, human perspective on the impact that healthcare and community support can have on people’s lives.
