Equal opportunities & inclusion

Summit Films is an equal opportunities employer. We believe the best work comes from bringing together people with different backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences - and our industry is at its strongest when the teams making the films reflect the world those films are made for. Creating a fair, welcoming and inclusive place to work isn't a box we tick; it's central to how we run the company and how we crew every production.

Our commitment

We are committed to treating everyone fairly and with respect, and to making sure no one is disadvantaged by who they are. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or victimisation of any kind. Every applicant, employee, freelancer and crew member is considered on the basis of their skills, experience and suitability for the role, and nothing else.

This commitment applies across every protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010 - age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation - and it runs through everything we do, from recruitment and hiring to pay, training, day-to-day working conditions and opportunities to progress.

Hiring local talent

Wherever we work, we make a point of hiring local. In every territory we shoot in, we look first to source cast, crew and suppliers from the local community rather than flying in a full team from elsewhere. It's a deliberate choice, and one we think matters on every level: it brings genuine local knowledge and authenticity to the work, it supports jobs and creative talent in the places that host us, and it opens our productions to a wider and more diverse range of people than we'd ever reach by working with the same faces each time. It also keeps travel to a minimum, which sits at the heart of our commitment to more sustainable production.

An ongoing commitment

We don't consider this work ever finished. We keep listening to our people and the freelancers we work with, and we're committed to reviewing how we're doing and improving over time. If you'd like to talk to us about working together, or about how we approach inclusion on our productions, we'd be glad to hear from you.
